We are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the very first Brixham Breakwater Swim, back in 1975, by launching ‘The Brixham Breakwater Classic’ open water swim event.

Taking place in Brixham, the swim will follow a 2km route around the iconic Brixham Breakwater. With its rich local history and thriving open-water swimming community, this event aims to showcase the beauty of Brixham’s coastline while promoting environmental awareness, community spirit, and sustainable practices.

Event Details:

2025: Limited to only 130 tickets for application swimmers. All swimmers will be Swim England registered and wearing wetsuits.

 

Registration on the day opens at 08:00hrs on the Breakwater slipway.

 

The first group of swimmers enter the water at 10:00hrs, All distances will be complete by 14:00hrs.

​

Location: Brixham Breakwater, Brixham, South Devon

 

Distances: 2km, 4km, and 6km – 1,2 or 3 complete swims around the Breakwater.

​

Swimmer Capacity: 130 participants only for the Breakwater Classic.

• 2km Swim: 60 swimmers – 1x lap (slipway to breakwater beach)

• 4km Swim: 40 swimmers – 2x laps of the breakwater with a marked land route

• 6km Swim: 30 swimmers – 3x laps of the breakwater with a marked land route

 

Spectator Access: Spectators encouraged to walk along the Breakwater to cheer on participants, with marshals ensuring public access points remain clear.
